Costa Rica Hotels
Costa Rica hotels can vary from the very economical to a pampered high end stay. Where you go will depend on the experience you will want to have on your vacation. Personally we spend little time in the hotels. We prefer to explore the country, but we still like the extra little comforts! Of the many hotels in Costa Rica I am sure you will something that meets most of your needs.
Lets start in San Jose as that is were we usually start our adventures. Places we have stayed El Hotel Presidente, The Barceló Palma Real hotel and the Aurola Holiday Inn
The Barceló Palma Real
The Barceló Palma Real is one of the nice hotels in Costa Rica if you want to stay just outside of the downtown area. You are still close to all the activity by bus or taxi. The rooms here are very nice and the service is great. We haven’t had any problems with this hotel. The food is also great which is very important. If you enjoy a nice walk this is the hotel for you. The gardens are beautiful. The flowers along the walk ways and then to the pool are truly amazing. They also have a casino if that is something your interested in. We have not been so I am sure about the service there. My guess is that you would be satisfied based on the rest of the hotels service.

The Aurola Holiday Inn a hotel in Costa Rica Hotels
The Aurola Holiday Inn is just off the central park area. The rooms here are nice and the service is great. The food starting with the breakfast buffet is fantastic. If you want a great view of the city head up to the top floor restaurant and you will find large widows over looking San Jose. At night this is a beautiful site. You can also enjoy live music provided by the live piano player. He is very good and plays requests. They also have a casino here as well as a pool and spa.

El Hotel Presidente
El Hotel Presidente is another Costa Rica Hotel which located right down town just off Avenida Central or Central Avenue. This Hotel has gone through a lot of upgrades and offers nice rooms and great food. You can enjoy eating at the road side café which offers you views of the people walking along the avenue. The hotel has gotten better at keeping the street vendors away from the windows. The rooms are nice here as well. They have completed a lot of upgrades and this is a nice place to stay if you want to experience the downtown area. You are close to shops and restaurants in the down town area. They have a casino here as well. I have stayed in the suites on most of my stays and they are very nice. The jacuzzi rooms are great and it is refreshing to relax in a nice warm jacuzzi after a long day of tours

There are several other Costa Rica hotels in San Jose and we have had friends stay at some of those places. We will pass along what they had to say as well. Some of the hotels in Costa Rica are also eco friendly. You will find several options for tours at most. We will also provide suggestions of things to do and places to go as well.
